Summer Camp

Join Us

The summer of 2014 was the first summer camp the Scott Able Canyon had seen for some time. Operation, of what was formally known as the Scott Able 4-H camp, was stopped 12 years ago, but all of that has changed.  Ownership has been transferred to Bill and Nancy Davis, who are in the process of restoring operation, at what is now the Southern Rockies Camp and Retreat Center.

With fresh starts come fresh ideas! The Davis' want to be surrendered to the purpose of God in everything they do, from business to sharing their love of summer camp. They have been working hard to put together a program that will bring the fun and joy one would expect from a summer camp. They are working around the theme "How to Simply Live", which reflects the idea of living a traditional lifestyle and bringing back the simple way to live. Their goal is to teach campers basic living skills such as canning, gardening, quilting, etc. Skills that seem to have been lost from one generation to another. Traditional kids summer camp is also available.

We invite you to join us as we journey to make this one of the premiere camps in the Southern Rocky Mountains.  Become a part of the new traditions that are starting at the Southern Rockies Camp and Retreat Center.

This program will teach basic survival skills like starting a fire, building a shelter, catching dinner and much more!
